Milan defeated by Juventus

Loss after 27 games in Serie A

Milan was playing very well in last 27 games in Serie A. The played beyond expectations having in mind that they are the youngest team in the Italian Championship. Unfortunately for them, they lost in the 16th round of Serie A. Juventus was the better team at San Siro. The final result was 3:1 for Juventus. Federico Chiesa scored two goals and Weston Mckennie scored one goal for Juventus, while Rafael Leao scored one goal for Milan. In this game, head coach of Milan could not count on Ante Rebic and Rade Krunic who were tested positive to Covid-19, Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is injured and Sandro Tonali who is serving his one match suspension after getting red card in the last game against Benevento.

Last game that AC Milan lost last season on March 8, 2020 against Genoa. After that they did not loose a single game. They were unbeaten for 27 consecutive games in Serie A until January 6, 2021 against Juventus. However, with this loss, Milan did not loose much since their rival Inter also lost against Sampdoria leaving Milan on the top of the table by one point for the season 2020/2021. However, they had a chance to leave Inter 4 points behind in which will most definitely be a very interesting race for the title.

As it seems at the moment, the top 4 contestants for the title in Serie A are Milan, Inter, Roma and Juventus that is slowly lifting its form. Before this game Juventus was 10 points behind Milan and 9 behind Inter, now they are only 7 points behind Milan and 6 behind Inter with one game less.
