Top 10 Tennis Players in 2021
We are witnessing the era of tennis where three players made a difference in the game. Yes, I am talking about Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and world number 1, Novak Djokovic.
The tennis would not be the same if these three were not here. Luckily for us, they were here and they still are. Although, all three of them are 30+, Federer being the oldest (39), they still have a lot to offer to tennis. Novak Djokovic recently broke Federer’s record of most weeks at number 1. Now, the Serbian player is number 1 for 323 weeks and counting.
The interesting thing with the ATP rankings is that new/young players are “showing their teeth” as in top 10, there are 6 players that are less than 30 years old. Let us see how the list looks like at the moment:
- Novak Djokovic, 11313 points (SRB)
- Daniil Medvedev, 9793 (RUS)
- Rafael Nadal, 9630 (ESP)
- Dominic Thiem, 8445 (AUT)
- Stefanos Tsitsipas, 7500 (GRE)
- Alexander Zverev, 6990 (GER)
- Andrey Rublev, 6090 (RUS)
- Roger Federer, 5605 (CH)
- Matteo Berrettini, 3958 (ITA)
- Diego Swartzman 3465, (ARG)
Currently, there is Roland Garros ongoing. The major surprise in the tournament was the Federer’s decision to withdraw in the middle of the tournament in order to be as much as ready as possible for the upcoming Wimbledon tournament. At the moment, the quarter-finals are played.
